MIDNIGHT OIL is a general contracting company that specializes in custom homebuilding & fabrication. We are native to Texas and operational in other regions.
We have an in-house team of expert framers, carpenters, welders, window/door installers, & concrete contractors. We maintain longstanding alliances with local Austin MEP contractors & other tradespeople.

As a business, Midnight Oil is selective about the projects we accept & we only manage two or three projects at a time. This sort of scheduling allows for superior quality control & coordination. Each project has a dedicated project manager who is on site daily for the duration of a project.
At present, we offer a cost-plus (22%) fee structure. We maintain robust insurance policies, & our contracts are promulgated by the Texas Association of Builders. Our project accounting is transparent & accessible to our clients.
For us, “burning the midnight oil” is about hard work and leaving the light on for one another.

FOUNDER & OWNER, LOWE JONES, grew up in Austin, TX. She has an undergraduate degree from Duke University & a Master’s of Architecture from The University of Texas at Austin.
After graduating, Lowe worked at a boutique, high-end architecture firm before launching her own architectural design practice, Fourth Workshop, LLC (Fourth). For many years, & on a case-by-case basis, Fourth accepted construction projects. Fourth is still active as a design entity & was recently featured on the cover of Luxe Magazine.
